Celebrating Our 2025 Creative Writing Contest Winners!
Home
Last night, we had the joy of gathering with young writers and community members at the Farmington Public Library to celebrate the winners of our 6th Annual Creative Writing Contest, hosted by the Mineral Area Council on the Arts (MACOA). With the theme “Home”, this year’s submissions captured everything from memories and places to emotions and the people who shape our sense of belonging. Each story, poem, and essay reminded us of how powerful words can be in expressing something so deeply personal and universal.
A Night of Storytelling & Insight
The evening began with a reading of the winning submissions.
Following the awards ceremony, we were thrilled to host a free public writing workshop led by published author Rachel Neumeier. Rachel generously shared her knowledge of the writing and publishing world, offering insight into:
– Traditional vs. self-publishing
– Working with editors and agents
– Finding inspiration and developing your craft
– Building confidence as a writer
Her approachable style and wealth of experience made the workshop engaging for writers of all ages. We are so grateful to Rachel for her time, encouragement, and generosity.
Congratulations to Our Winners!
We proudly recognize the following writers for their exceptional entries:
