Women of Song Concert

Performer and singer Deborah Sharn has been in St. Louis for many years. She is an actress who has worked with Black Rep, New Line Theatre, The New Jewish Theatre, and the Mustard Seed Theatre. She has two JUDY awards under her belt and numerous sold-out cabaret performances at the Kranzberg Art Center.

Women of Song concert will be at the Mineral Area College Fine Arts Theater on November 14th at 7:00pm. This concert will feature Deborah Sharn on vocals, Carolbeth True on piano, Glen Smith on bass, and David True on drums. Carolbeth True is a well-known St. Louis performer and music educator.

She is adjunct music faculty at Webster University and has a private piano studio. Her son David True is a drummer in their group Two Times True along with Glen Smith. These talented musicians will be bringing to life decades of music from the women who changed the music industry.

The concept for the concert came from Deborah Sharn. She has done many jazz and other music cabaret shows, but we both wanted something a little different. She proposed the idea of focusing only on the women in the music industry. It was discussed, and the Women of Song concert was conceived. This concert will feature artists that are known by generations. The concert may also have some surprises in it as well. Bring the family and see a wonderful night of music!

Be prepared to hear songs spanning genres, artists, and years. Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Patsy Cline, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Nicks and so many more. This is a concert that will highlight the incredible “women of song”.
